Frequently Asked Questions
Therapy is a personal decision, and it’s perfectly normal to feel unsure. If you're struggling with emotional challenges, or mental health concerns, therapy can provide valuable support. If you’re unsure, we can discuss your concerns in an initial consultation to see if my approach feels like a good fit.
There are a few simple ways to schedule an appointment. You can click on the "Book an appointment" button on this website and follow the simple directions. Another option is to send me an email at Martha@oaktreetherapy.care or call/text me at 226 340-7027.

Yes, everything you share in therapy is kept confidential. I follow strict ethical guidelines to protect your privacy, with a few exceptions like when there’s a risk of harm to yourself or others. We’ll discuss confidentiality in more detail at our first session.
Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about why you’re seeking therapy, your goals, and your background. Additionaly, we will complete or review an intake form together. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask any questions about how I work and what to expect moving forward.
Sessions typically 1 hour. We’ll use this time to dive into the issues that matter most to you and work on strategies to help you feel better.
Most people start with weekly sessions, but the frequency can be adjusted based on your needs and goals. Some people may meet bi-weekly or monthly as they progress.
It’s important that you feel comfortable with your therapist. If you don’t feel like we're a good match, please let me know. We can discuss your concerns and, if needed, I can help you find a therapist who may be a better fit.
The length of therapy varies depending on your needs, goals, and the nature of the challenges you're working through. Some people see improvements in a few months, while others may choose to continue therapy for longer-term support. We will regularly assess your progress and adjust the plan as needed.
