I am Martha Unger, MSW RSW, the heart and soul behind OakTree Therapy and Counseling. With a deep passion for helping others, I founded OakTree to create a space where individuals can feel truly heard, supported, and understood. My approach to therapy is rooted in empathy, warmth, and a non-judgmental attitude, allowing my clients to open up and explore their feelings in a safe environment.
I am a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (#829596) and a proud member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers. I hold both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work, with a minor in Psychology from the University of Windsor.
Over the years, I’ve developed a unique ability to connect with people, making them feel valued and heard. My journey into therapy was driven by my desire to make a meaningful difference in people's lives by bringing hope. I know life can be tough, and my goal is to help individuals navigate their challenges, find healing, and ultimately thrive. At OakTree, I offer in person sessions in a way that feels personal, accessible, and flexible so that clients can receive the support they need, when and how they need it.
My dedication to my clients, combined with my expertise and heartfelt commitment to their well-being, is what makes me an exceptional therapist and a trusted ally on your path to growth.
My home counselling office is located in a peaceful, wooded area, offering a serene and calming environment for those seeking support. Inside, the space is cozy and warm, designed to make you feel comfortable and at ease from the moment you walk in. The natural surroundings help create a sense of tranquility, allowing you to relax and open up in a private and welcoming setting. Whether you’re navigating a difficult time or simply looking to explore your emotions, my office provides a safe, nurturing space where healing and growth can take place.
